John W. Moore

MANSFIELD: John W. Moore, 81, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

John was born on July 14, 1932, in Crooksville, OH to Harvey E. and Bessie (Cavinee) Moore. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Crane Plumbing after 38 years of service, and was a faithful member for 54 years at Faith Chapel Church. One of his favorite Bible passages was Matthew 6: 19-21, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, …But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Delores Faye (Mills) Moore; four children, Randy (Annette) Moore of Mansfield, Pam (Paul) Moore Keesee of Jackson, Ronald (Tammy) Moore of Crossville, TN, and Steven Moore of Long Island, NY; 11 grandchildren, Ryan, Alyssa, and Jordan Moore, Nathan, Jonathan, David, and Daniel Keesee, Brittni (Barrett) Moore Peak, MaKayla, Alexis, and Rhonwyn Moore; one great-grandchild, Sawyer Peak; and four siblings, Lela Bobo, Velma Swain, Lucille Brandau, and Harold Moore.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Rollin, Elmer, and Pearl Moore and Rozella (Moore) Hartley.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 and Monday, April 28, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel Church, 674 Hanna Rd. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 with Pastor Bruce Copley officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
