BELLVILLE: Joseph D. Donaugh, age 62, of Bellville passed away Wednesday morning, December 5, 2012 in his home following a brief illness.

He was born December 26, 1949 in Mansfield the only son of Dane and Madonna (Madigan) Donaugh and was graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1969.

A U.S. Army veteran, Joe served two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

Joseph worked several years at Tappan until the plant closed. He then worked for Conrail until a truck accident put him on disability.

A lifelong area resident, Joe was a life member of the William O. Naylor Amvets #43, the Irvin Hiskey Post #535 American Legion, and VFW Post #8586, Perrysville.

A man of simplicity, Joe enjoyed spending time with his son and grandkids, usually muddin' around in his 4x4. When he was homebound, Joe lived for watching old John Wayne movies, and episode after episode of CSI.

Joseph is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Kelly and AnnMarie Donaugh of Butler, three grandchildren Joseph A., Caiti P. and RyAnne L. Donaugh, and a great grandson Noah Donaugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 10, 2012 from 12-2 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral home where the funeral service will be held at 2 pm. Burial with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #535 will follow in Bunkerhill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Irvin Hiskey Post #535 American Legion may be made at the funeral home.
