Keith R. Reynolds
MANSFIELD: Keith Robert Reynolds passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, May 12, 2013 in Prince William Hospital, Manassas, Virginia. He was born to Arthur and Catherine Reynolds in Ilian, New York on December 7, 1951 and grew up in New York and Colorado.
Keith joined the Navy immediately after his graduation from high school and retired in 1990 after serving 20 years. He was especially proud of his service on the USS Nautilus (SSN-571), the world's first operational nuclear-powered submarine. Following his retirement he continued to be employed as a civilian military contractor/program manager, most recently working with shipboard metrology and calibration. He earned numerous advanced educational degrees after retirement from the Navy.
Keith had many passions including his love of the Boston Red Sox, his devotion to the Flying Lizards Performance Race Team, and an appreciation for Classical Music and Classic movies, especially Bogart films.
His true expertise was American History. He knew dates, locations and key participants of every battle of the Civil War, Revolutionary War and others. Talking to Keith about American History, one might sometimes believe that he actually lived in these times.
Keith is survived by his wife of two years, Judy Stahl-Reynolds of Mansfield; two sons Andrew Reynolds of Manassas, Va, and Christopher Reynolds of Parsippany, NJ; a step-son Matt Gerberick and his wife Tessa of Miamisburg; step-daughter Jennifer Kime and her husband Mark of Mansfield; four step-grandchildren Sam, Lilian, and Olive Kime and Ryan Gerberick; a brother Bryan Reynolds Baltimore Md; two sisters Faith Reynolds Manassas, Va and Elaine Reynolds of Liberty, Mo; and his beloved 'black dog' Katie.
A memorial service for Keith will be held Saturday, May 25th at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 West Cook Road, Mansfield, with a reception to follow in the church lounge.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Fairfax Pets on Wheels at http://www.fpow.org/tribute
or Kingwood Center, where Keith and Judy were married in 2011, by sending your contribution to Kingwood Center, 900 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio 44906 and designate that the donation is in memoriam of Keith R. Reynolds.
