LEXINGTON: Kevin L. Copeland, 54, of Lexington passed away December 31, 2013 in his home following a four-month battle with cancer.

He was born February 12, 1959 in Barboursville, West Virginia, the son of Gordon and JoAnne (Watters) Copeland and was graduated from Lexington High School in 1978.

A skilled auto body worker, Kevin worked at Ingram Oldsmobile in Mansfield, C&D Chevrolet in Mt. Gilead, Whiteys in Mansfield. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Rugged and outdoorsy, Kevin enjoyed dirt bike riding, fishing and hanging out with Blue, his Bluetick Coonhound.

He is survived by his two sons, Kevin Ross Copeland and Neil Copeland both of Mansfield; their mother, Terri Kemplin of Mansfield; brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Cindi Copeland of Chicago, IL and Jeff and Karen Copeland of Indianapolis, IN; and his friend, Sandy Blackledge of Butler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Copeland; mother, JoAnne Copeland Leech; and his best friend, Frank Smith.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 10, 2013 at 6 pm in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2010 Park Avenue West, Mansfield. Pastor Carol Kilgore will officiate.
