Leann E. Blevins
SHELBY: Happiness is a walk along the reservoir feeding the ducks. It is a stolen moment cradling a grandbaby. Happiness is the flit of a Monarch butterfly on your hand - not sad that the moment is over - glad for the opportunity and the memory.
Leann Blevins was a happy person, not perhaps because of her circumstances, but rather in spite of them. For Leann happiness was a choice.
Remembered for her smiles, great personality and active listening skills, Leann went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 22, 2013 from The Cleveland Clinic. She was 47.
Born February 20, 1966 in St. Petersburg, FL, Leann was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1984 and attended The Ohio State University
, and spent the majority of her life raising her family in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Leann attended Journey Life Center in Shelby and more recently was active with, and had been baptized at, Crossroads Community Church in Mansfield.
She loved spending time with her fiancé Ted Dittmars, walking around the Shelby Reservoir (she really knew all the ducks by name), and quickly became a friend to even strangers, as Leann never let her weakness show, but was strong and engaging.
In addition to her fiancé, she is survived by her children Crystal (Cliff) Hadley of Live Oak, FL, Brittany Blevins of Eufaula, AL, Cody (Robin) Blevins of Shelby currently stationed with the US Army in Mililani, HI, Brandy Shields of Mansfield and Lee (Meshey) Shields of Mansfield; grandchildren Clayton, Caleb, Cayden, Dawson, Carter, Justin, Kierstyn, Cameron, Antonio, Ariyah, Daimion, Preston; her parents Gator and Kim (Rader) Johns of Mansfield; her sister Kelly (Andy) Pentello of Galena; the father of her children Robert Eugene Blevins of Crestline; a large extended family and circle of friends.
Leann was welcomed into paradise by her daughter Tiffany Blevins.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where her funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. A committal service will be held Friday, June 28 in Lee Memorial Gardens, Ft. Myers, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family strongly prefers contributions in Leann's memory to All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg, Florida, and may be made at the funeral home.
