LeRoy J. "Roy" Clark
MANSFIELD: LeRoy J. "Roy" Clark, 65, of Mansfield, died April 30, 2014. Born December 9, 1948 in Mansfield, he was the son of Joseph and Freda (Walters) Clark. Roy graduated from Madison High School in 1966 and went to work for Eagle Lumber Company, Carter Lumber, and later, Ohio Door and Sash. Although he was disabled later in life, he always kept himself busy and kept a positive attitude. Roy loved dogs and enjoyed watching TV in his free time. You could always find him watching Cleveland Browns football on Sunday as well as NASCAR races. A friendly guy, Roy enjoyed talking on the phone to keep in touch with everyone. He was a member of Salvation Army Church, where he also served as a soldier.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Carla Jean Clark of Mansfield; his dog Zeus, at home; son, Joseph L. (Dawn) Clark of Bucyrus; mother, Freda (Walters) Clark of Mansfield; granddaughter, Jocelyn Clark of Bucyrus; sister, Judith DeYarman of Hobbs, NM; brother, Gregory Clark of Shelby; brothers-in-law, Joseph McLaughlin of Huber Heights, OH and David McLaughlin of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Marsha (Paul) Juergens of Bellville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Roy was preceded in death by his father.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
