SHELBY: Lois Eileen (Walker) Castor, age 87, of Shelby, died Sunday morning, December 2, 2012 at her home.

Lois was born October 12, 1925 in Mansfield to the late H. Reed and Carrie D. (Smith) Walker. She was a 1943 graduate of Shelby High School and then furthered her education at Muskingum College graduating in 1947 with a bachelor's degree in music. Lois spent her career at the Shelby City Schools where she was the elementary school music teacher for over 30 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby where she was very active. Lois enjoyed baking and made fantastic cookies and cakes. She also cherished the times she spent caring for her grandchildren.

Lois is survived by: 2 sons: Reed Castor of Shelby, Mark Castor of Mansfield; 3 grandchildren: Jeff Castor, Libby Sipe, Layne Castor; 3 great-grandchildren: Corbin, Breanna, Wesley Castor; 6 step-grandchildren: Ashley Honnald, Sarah Kalinowski, Rachel Coleman, Amy Davis, Noah Brown, Hannah Brown, Jerry Coxwell, James McCallum; a sister: Eloise (Ted) BeBee, of Canada; special friends: Carol (James) Dannemiller, Mickey Waldruff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Castor, on February 7, 1989.

Friends may call on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM with Pastor Tom Snyder officiating.
