Loretta J. Prosser
ONTARIO: Loretta J. Prosser, 74, of Ontario, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Mill Creek Nursing Home in Galion. Born January 26, 1938 in Mansfield she was the daughter of C. Noel and Maryann (Gleisinger) Crider. She was a graduate of Ontario High School and retired from Ideal Electric in January 2005 following 37 years of service. Prior to that, she had proudly obtained her real estate license and had worked for Heart Realty in the 1970's. A strong woman, she loved her family dearly and was the wind beneath their wings ~ as her beautiful family was her legacy and she was affectionately called NanNan or Grandma by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved reading, playing bingo and attending family reunions. In her younger years, had enjoyed playing cards, pool and ping pong at parties she and her husband would host. Going to garage sales with Ruby "Duby" was especially enjoyable.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Shumate and her fiancé, Larry Meckley of Ontario and Debra (Michael) Shoemaker of Ontario; two sons, Lee (Sharon) Prosser of Ontario and Daniel Prosser of Virginia; 11 grandchildren, Ben (Amie) Shoemaker, Christopher Shoemaker, Alyssa Shoemaker, Angela (Brian) Arter, Jaclyn (Jeff) Barker, Amber (Kurt) Frietchen, Ashlee (Shannon) Calhoun, Bobby (April) Prosser, Malcolm (Amanda) Prosser, Danny Prosser and Blake Prosser; 13 great grandchildren, Braden, Seth, Kinley, Brooklynn, Emerie, Alayna, Kaylee, Maria, Lauren, Rylee, Brantson, Malcolm, Jaylee and two more on the way; a brother, Paul (Lindia) Gleisinger of Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert E. Prosser; and two brothers, Harold and Gerald Crider.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Michael Rogers. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
