Marie J. Kohler
MANSFIELD: Marie J. Kohler, 101, of Mansfield, OH died February 7, 2014 at Wedgewood Assisted Living of natural causes. Born August 20, 1912 she was the daughter of Ivan and Sue (Thierline) Flook. Marie was a homemaker before returning to college to earn her teaching degree at age 42 from Ashland University. In 1975, Marie retired from Madison schools after 21 years of teaching elementary classes. In her free time, Marie loved to play cards. She spent many years wintering in the Mount Dora area of Florida. Marie was a very family oriented lady. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and National Retired Teachers Association. Marie was a loyal member of First Christian Church for many years.
Surviving are her son, Fred F. Jr. Kohler of Mansfield; daughter in-law, Sara Kohler of Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Sherilee (Tom) Bertelloti, Kortney Kohler, and Kandice (Dan) Kohler-Tibuni; and great grandchildren, Brian and Jacob Bertelloti.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred F. Kohler, whom she was married to for 63 years; parents; grandson, Michael Kohler; son, Jerry A. Kohler; daughter in-law, Deborah Kohler; sister, Martha (Mervin) Grau; and brother, Jack (Vi) Flook.
Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S.
