BELLVILLE: Marilou Trouten, 78, of Bellville passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Country Court Nursing Home, in Mt. Vernon.

The daughter of Ben and Bernice (Binau) Smith, Marilou was born June 2, 1934 and graduated from Mansfield Senior high school in 1952. Continuing her education at Ashland University, Marilou received her Bachelors of Music Education in 1968.

Marilou was a music teacher for Lexington City Schools, at Western Elementary. She also taught piano lessons from her home.

Marilou enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and working on jigsaw puzzles.

She attended Clear Fork Alliance Church.

She is survived by her devoted husband Earl Trouten of Bellville; daughter Sylvia McNair of Bloomington, Indiana; step-daughters DeAnna, Pam and Brenda Trouten, and step-sons Earl Trouten Jr., and Ron Trouten; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband George McNair and brother Robert Smith.

Calling hours will be Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2-5pm in the sanctuary of Clear Fork Alliance Church, 1008 State Route 97, Bellville, Ohio. Graveside services conducted by Rev. Dr. Michael Stine and Rev. Edsel Trouten will be Monday at 11am in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
