Martin E. Brust
SHELBY: Martin E. Brust, age 91, resident of Shelby died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his home.
Born February 11, 1922 in Mansfield to Homer and Isabelle (Haman) Brust, he had been a Shelby resident the majority of his life.
Mr. Brust was a 33 year employee of Shelby Autocall, retiring in 1986 and had worked at the Shelby Daily Globe. A veteran of the US Navy, he served during WWII
He was a member of the Shiloh Masonic Lodge #544 F&AM receiving his 50 year pin in 2008.
Survivors include his children, Merle "Hobbit" Brust and Lisa Roop both of Shelby; his grandchildren, Amber and Joshua Roop and three great grandchildren, Alexis, Brooklyn and Chloe all of Shelby; his siblings, William Brust of Upper Sandusky, Frances Medrano of Florida, Jane Eggerton and Shirley Bixler, both of Mansfield; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Cline) Brust and granddaughter, Sheila Brust.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, April 15, 2013 in Oakland Cemetery with Reverend Doug Tackett, of the Taylortown Community Church, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM where Masonic services will be conducted at 4:45PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Brust family.
