Mary R. "Becky" Donaldson

MANSFIELD: Mary R. "Becky" Donaldson, 61, of Mansfield, died April 24, 2014.

Born August 15, 1952 in Ashland, she was the daughter of Wayne and Mary (Brown) Thompson. Becky worked as head cook at Ontario Middle School for 28 years. She loved her job, it was like a second family to her. The ultimate mom to all, there were always kids at her house. Her kids and grandkids friends even referred to her as "mom" and "grandma". Becky supported all of her kids and grandkids activities and sports and was sure to be at every game and activity. She was a cub scout leader and girl scout leader for both of her children as they grew up. In her free time, Becky was an avid Indians and Browns fan, and enjoyed vacationing to Lake Erie and West Virginia. There was never a dull moment with Becky, as she enjoyed spontaneous weekend getaways with her husband to the casino and elsewhere. She also loved to dance. Known for her beautiful smile, Becky was loved by all who knew her. She was a fighter until the very end, remaining active at her grandchildren's activities and events.

Becky's family will strive to carry on the many traditions she started, including baking Christmas cookies and having big holiday meals.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Rick Donaldson of Mansfield; daughter, Dusti (Donald) Reese of Mansfield; son, Branham (Valerie) Donaldson of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren, Alisha, Alton II, Mekaila, Brooklynn, and Alegend Grose, Dondreas and Donjeon Reese, Tyra Stewert, Alexis Tackett, and Jacob, Landon, and Tatum Donaldson; great-grandchildren, Alayla and Jayla Sutton and Keylin Jackson; sisters, Joyce (Mike) Bedwell of Ashland and Brenda (Leo) Kahl of Ashland; brother, Tom (Karen) Thompson of Ashland; and special friends, Vicki Salyers, Sherry Sammataro, Wilma Ball, and Betty Clegg.
