Mary Elizabeth Wolford

MANSFIELD: Mary Elizabeth Wolford, 50, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly May 11, 2014 of a heart attack in her home. Born December 17, 1963, she was the daughter of Richard Eugene and Ruth Geissinger Wolford.

Mary grew up in Madison Township and graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 1982 where she was a member of the marching band and was also involved in 4-H Club where she showed steers at the fair. She had worked for a number of years for Frey Scientific until the company moved out of Mansfield, Bookmasters in Ashland, and AM Communications in Galion. Mary attended Crossroads Community Church.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Gail Wolford of Madison Township; her nephew and his wife, Jeremy and Jenna Wolford of Franklin Township; her nieces, Jolene Wolford of Tiffin and Jessica Steele and her husband, Benjamin of Cincinnati; a great niece and great nephew, Audrey and Cody Wolford; aunts and uncles, William and Lutie Wolford of Ashland, Philip and Mae Geissinger of Pennsylvania and Irma and Dennis Gustafson of Iowa; and many cousins, friends and extended church family.

She was preceded in death by her father in February 2001; her mother in December 2011; her sister, Kathryn Wolford in January 2004; and her grandparents.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Ron Biddle, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to visit for one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation, 827 Country Club Lane, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
