Orin F. Boyce

GALION: Orin F. Boyce, 83, of Galion, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

Orin was born in Shelby on October 26, 1929 to the late Sherman and Vera (Victor) Boyce. He married Correina J. Jacobs on January 17, 1984 she survives him.

He was a graduate of Union High School. He was employed by A.M.F. Bowling Products in Shelby for ten years, a plumber for Brown Electric, Shelby for five years, Shaffer Valve, Inc., Mansfield for eight and half years, and Baha Boats, Bucyrus for nine years. Orin retired from Sam's Club in Mansfield. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He served two years in the U.S. Army Karia Company 1951-1953 during the Korean War. A loving father and grandfather, Orin was known as Mr. Fix-It because he could fix anything.

He is survived by his son-in-law Ralph Neighbors of Mansfield, two step-sons: David & Jane Wirick & Steven Ralston both of Galion, two step-daughters: Kaylene Jagger of Lexington and Sherrie & Robert Shockley of Galion; three granddaughters: Carrie Rhodes, Mansfield; Crystal Pound, South Bend, IN; and Amanda Neighbors, Mansfield; seven step-grandchildren: Matt & Amy Niedermier, Galion; Andy & Rebecca Jagger, Columbus; Krista Medina, Piral City, HI; David & Nicole Wirick, Columbus; Michael & Erika Shifflet, Mansfield; Ashley Coleman, Galion; and Mariah Zickefoose, Galion; twelve great-grandchildren: Sylvia Mabe, Gage Pound, Kristi Pound, Miranda Pound, Aaron Rhodes, Tyler Rhodes, Isaac & Ava Niedermier, Tyson & Clair Shifflet, Justin Rush, Juan Medina, Noah Wirick and Leiam Wirick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Pattie L. Neighbors; his brother Gail Boyce and his sister Mable Winkleman.

Friends may call Friday, February 8, 2013 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastor Jerry Penrod, Jr. officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Galion/Crestline Area Veterans Organizations.
