Raymond T. Hardy

MANSFIELD: Raymond T. Hardy, 79, of Mansfield, OH died January 26, 2014 after a brief illness. Born January 2, 1935 in Sciotoville, OH he was the son of Raymond and Hattie (Ramey) Hardy. Raymond attended Mansfield Senior High School. He worked in the hot strip at AK Steel for 44 years. In his free time, he enjoyed trap shooting, turkey shooting, rabbit hunting, building and riding motorcycles, woodworking, and gardening. Raymond was a Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bernice (Kegley) Hardy; daughters, Corrine (Walter) Perrigway of VA and Gypsy Messer of Cleveland; sons, Raymond (Pam) Hardy of CA, Clinton (Sherry) Hardy, George Hall, Paul Kegley, all of Mansfield, and Arthur Hardy of Shelby; fifteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Paul Hardy of Mansfield; brothers in-law, Joe (Gale) Holmes, Robert (Brenda) Deweese, Joe Kegley, Denny Hall, and Dick (Carolyn) Carver; and sister in-law, Wanda Hunt.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine; brother, Billy; sister in-law, Shirley Hall; and brother in-law, Charles Hunt.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Jay Hill and Pastor Larry Hill, will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will be held at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Springmill Cemetery.
