Rebekah K. Dickison
MANSFIELD: Rebekah K. Dickison, 36, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her residence. Born June 1, 1978 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Rev. Mack T. Dickison, Jr. and Ethel Jeannette (Birchfield) Dickison.
A 1996 graduate of Mansfield Senior High, Rebekah worked for Dairyland in Mansfield for 16 years and most recently, was employed with the Ashland County Board of Developmental Disabilities in the DR Services Division. She was loved by all and made herself available to anyone she could ~ having inspired many people over the years. Being the daughter of a minister, she was involved in various activities with multiple area churches especially the Ontario Upward Basketball program and Relay for Life for 10 years. Following her diagnosis of ovarian cancer in 2008, Rebekah made it her commitment to educate everyone about cancer awareness.
Rebekah was a social butterfly ~ very energetic, bubbly and outgoing and will be missed by all whom she touched with her selfless disposition on life.
She is survived by her mother, Jeannette Dickison of Mansfield; three sisters, Deloris (Mark) Bailey of Mansfield, Katherine (James) Ross of Ontario and Kristina Dickison of Mansfield; a niece and nephew, Brianna and Brandon Bailey; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Mack T. Dickison, Jr.; grandparents, James and Lula Birchfield and Mack T. and Reba Dickison; aunt Shirley Carver; and uncle George Allen Birchfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the First Church of God on Park Avenue West conducted by Rev. Travis McKenzie. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
