Richard "Dick" P. Burggraf, Jr.
MANSFIELD: Richard "Dick" P. Burggraf, Jr., age 57, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born August 14, 1955 in Mansfield, Ohio to Richard P. Sr. and Patricia (Brittain) Burggraf and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Madison High School in 1973. Dick was the former canteen manager at VFW
Post #9943, where he was also a member. Dick was a great organizer and ran the Junior Bowling League when he was a junior bowler. He enjoyed bowling throughout his life, was a member and Past President of the Mansfield Bowling Association, Sons of Herman Bowling League and accomplished the feat dreamed of by all bowlers-a perfect "300" game. He was a fan of all sports and especially enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians. Dick was a member of the Sons of Herman. He enjoyed tinkering with computers in his spare time. On August 5, 1990, he married Lisa Karr and they recently celebrated their 22nd year of marriage. His daughters were his world and he would have received "Father of the Year" every year if they had their way.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Burggraf; daughters, Kristen, Kelsey and Karla Burggraf; father, Richard P. Burggraf, Sr.; sister, Karen (John) Wendling; brother, Michael (Sonya) Burggraf; father-in-law, Donald E. Karr; sisters-in-law, Beth Karr, Helynn (Richard) Hoffman, Jr., and Donna (Sidney) Hale; good friend, Chris Gillespie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Burggraf and mother-in-law, Marianna Moritz Karr.
Friends and family may visit from 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rector Emeritus David S. Sipes officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date.
