Robert Smith "Yo-Yo" Tryon

MANSFIELD: Robert Smith "Yo-Yo" Tryon, 70, of Mansfield, OH died November 7, 2013 at Hospice House. Born on May 19, 1943, he was the son of Willis Frederick Tryon and Helen Marie Rachel. He was a true family man that was a loving husband, father, and uncle. Robert had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back. A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Vietnam War. He was a coal miner in Kentucky of 14 years, was the owner and operator of Tryon Trucking and also drove for RCT. Robert loved all six of his cats, Biscuit, Sunshine, Lil Bit, Baby Boy, Bear Dog, and Sophia as well as his pug, Brandy.

Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Sherry Workman; step-son, Julius Mitchell (Destiny) Workman of Mansfield; step-grandson, Trent Julius Workman; eight sisters, Pat Foley of Westlake, OH, Barbara (Judson) Schaefer of Lexington, OH, Joyce (Bert) Nichols of Mansfield, Nancy (Ed) Smith of Mansfield, Peggy (Bob) Ritter of Mansfield, Marlene (Bob) Hoffman of Bellville, Carlene Cater of Columbia, TN, and Debi (Bruce) Pugh of Perrysville, OH; three brothers, Bill (Donita) Tryon of Mansfield, Larry (Rose) Tryon of Altoona, Manitoba, Canada, and Brother John Tryon of Granger, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Julius Dante Workman; sisters, Mary Kay Thompson and Gayle Tryon; and brothers, Daniel Tryon and Dennis Tryon.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice House, Rev. Dr. Johnny Heckard and Sharon Callahan.

Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will be held in Mansfield Cemetery on Wednesday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m.
