Ronald L. Hanlon

SHELBY: Ronald L. Hanlon, age 66, resident of Shelby died Tuesday morning, February 12, 2013 at MedCentral/Shelby.

Born November 20, 1946 in Shelby to Roy and Fannie (Hartz) Hanlon, he was a 1964 graduate of Buckeye Central High School and a Shelby area resident for most of his life. A United States Marine during the Vietnam Conflict, he worked as a lineman for AEP and enjoyed working on cars, riding his Harley Davidson and playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of American Legion Post #326, Shelby Owls, Shelby Moose, Shelby Eagles, and a life member of Amvets.

Survivors include his soulmate of 21 years, Sandra Reffel of Shelby; two daughters, Billi Jo Hanlon and Tonya Fellows, both of Shelby; three sons, Richard (Tressa) Fellows and Steve Fellows both of Mansfield and Brian (Tammy) Fellows of Shelby; eight grandchildren, Joseph Balliett, Allison Chew, Joshua, Levi, Amber, Jake, Bree and Autumn Fellows; two great-grandchildren, Bailey Martin and Joy Fellows; two brothers, Donald Hanlon and Kenneth Hanlon, both of Bucyrus; five sisters, Lois Nye of Tiro, Jean (Sonny) Wallace of Shelby, JoAnn (Donald) Bishop of Shelby, Carol (Milford) Williams of New London and Mary Rollins of Mansfield; nieces, nephews and his faithful companion, "Tug".

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, LeRoy Hanlon and one sister, Marilyn Harris.

A Service of Remembrance will be held 7:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Tom Snyder will officiate with military honors provided by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 and 7:00PM.
