WICHITA, KS: Samuel Meyers, 78, formerly of Mansfield, passed away Thursday morning, June 12, 2014 in Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by his loving family.
Sam was born April 26, 1936 in Crestline, the son of Harry and Frieda (Mosberg) Meyers. Upon graduating from Crestline High School, Sam attended The Ohio State University
earning his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Sam was an avid cruciverbalist, with fervent affection for (nearly) all musical genres, Buckeyes (universities, sports teams and desserts) and knishes. He retired from a career as an accountant at the General Motors
, Ontario Plant. Sam was a member of Emanuel Jacob Congregation.
He is survived by three children: Michelle (David) Oppenheimer, of Cleveland; Mark (Amanda) Meyers, of Wichita, Kansas; and Michael (Stephanie) Meyers of Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren: Aden, Aron, Ezra, Hava and Solin; his brother Irvin (Beverly) Meyers; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Arnoff) Meyers.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11 am in Emanuel Jacob Cemetery, with memorial services following at 12 noon at Emanuel Jacob Congregation. Rabbi Michael Oppenheimer will officiate.
