GALION: Shirley Gordon, 87, of Galion, and formerly of Detroit died peacefully Friday, February 15, 2013 at home surrounded by her family.
Born November 10, 1925 in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Stumpfig) Wilson. She was preceded in death on September 8, 1980 by her husband, William Leslie "Les" Gordon.
Shirley enjoyed cross stitching, card club and music, especially the Blackwater Band.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Patrick Dixon of Galion; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Roger) Young of Mason, W.V. and Gordon (Tara) Dixon of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roy Gordon; two sisters, including her twin sister, Nancy Hass and Marion Poole.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, February 18, with Rev. Jed Brake, Hospice Chaplain officiating. A graveside service will be held at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Michigan on Tuesday, February 19 at 12 noon.
