Stuart Andrew "Stu" Leonard

MANSFIELD: Stuart Andrew "Stu" Leonard, 86, of Mansfield passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home.

Stu was born May 6, 1926 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts the son of Clyde and Marian (Wheeler) Leonard.

Following high school graduation, Stu served in the Army during the Korean War.

On November 26, 1954 he married Bonnie McClaflin.

Stu was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and Mansfield VFW Post #9943.

He enjoyed golfing and bowling. A family man, Stu proudly cheered for his grandchildren, seldom missing their sporting events.

Stu is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Bonnie Leonard of Mansfield; sons Andy Leonard of Massillon and William (Nancy) Leonard of Dowagiac, Michigan, daughter Linda (Keith) Bender of Mansfield; six grandchildren Touby, Theresa, and Taylor Bender and Heather, Gabby, and Billy Leonard; sister Faith Gillenwater of Hadley, Massachusetts; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son Randy Leonard, brothers Bradley and Roger Leonard, sister Eva Leech, and an infant sister Ada Leonard.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 2-5 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Joseph Ashby and The Rev. David Sipes will officiate.

Memorial contributions to the Grace Episcopal Church Food Pantry or Hospice of North Central Ohio may be made through the funeral home
