Thelma Marie Stiteler Rupanovic

SHELBY: Thelma Marie Stiteler Rupanovic, 88, of Shelby, Ohio died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at her residence. Born March 28, 1925 in Shelby, she was the eldest daughter of George Charles Stiteler, Sr. and Leona Mae (McGregor) Stiteler.

She moved to Mansfield at an early age and lived there most of her life. Thelma retired from Carpenter School in Mansfield as head cook. She and her husband, Jake, moved to Marblehead, Ohio in 1986 spending summers there and winters in Florida with the Marblehead Lighthouse being a favorite family gathering place. They moved back to Shelby in 2006 to be closer to family members.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob Steven Rupanovic whom she married October 27, 1942 and celebrated 70 years of marriage on that date in 2012; two daughters, Sandra Kay Rupanovic Snyder and her friend Jerry Bailey of Shelby and Marilyn Joyce Rupanovic Estep and her husband Earl "Kenny" Estep of Lexington, OH; grandchildren, Dawn (Jeff) Wymer of Canton, MI, Susan (Anthony) Slone of Shelby, Rebecca McQuillen of Chicago, IL and Michael (Brenda) Snyder of Shelby; great grandchildren, Garth (Kayla) Snyder of Shelby, Caitlyn Wymer of Canton, MI, Bailey Slone of Shelby, Mitchell Wymer of Canton, MI, Sierra Snyder of Shelby, Macy Slone of Shelby and Jacob Wymer of Canton, MI; and siblings, Betty (Sterling) Wells of Vermontville, MI, Janet (Jack) Hatfield of Mansfield and Daniel "Butch" (Shirley) Stiteler of Mansfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George Jr., Leo, Ross, Harold, Gene and Glen Stiteler and her sisters, Patricia Stiteler and Pauline Stiteler Gangluff.

The family would like to thank Thelma's special caregivers, Brenda Snyder and Julie Metzger.
