MANSFIELD: Vernon "Busstop" Bond, 74, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Oak Grove Manor in Mansfield.
He was born Monday, Jan. 30, 1939 in Brownsville TN and had been living in Mansfield for 50 years. He retired from CSX Railroad in February 2001 after 32 years of service and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Vernessa Lindsay-Bond; his children, MarQuiss T. (Jalessa) Bond, Veronica L. Toddie, Tarasha S. Eatmon and John M. Dorsey; stepchildren, JaMarr A. Lindsay, Eric J. Toddie Sr. and Tonda M. Toddie; mother-in-law, Pearline Lindsay; brother-in-laws, Ellery (Wendy) Lindsay, George Lindsay, Jay (Belinda) Lindsay; 19 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call on Friday, June 28, one hour prior to the 12:00 noon service at Providence Baptist Church, 112 W 6th St., Mansfield; Rev. Thomas Hunt officiating.
