Betty E. Welch Loughman

MANSFIELD: Betty E. Welch Loughman, 93, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Mansfield Memorial Home. Born September 2, 1919 in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of John and Mabel (Donnon) Welch. A homemaker, she was a lifelong resident of Mansfield and also a lifelong member of Main Street United Methodist Church where she was active in the Plus Ultra Sunday School Class and the Priscilla Circle. She had volunteered for the American Red Cross and RSVP and enjoyed reading, playing games and attending to her flowers but she mostly enjoyed family gatherings and her friends.

She is survived by two sons, Terry M. (Gloria) Loughman and Kendal L. (Elizabeth) Loughman both of Mansfield; grandchildren, Kelli Loughman of Mansfield, Jason Loughman of Westerville and Kristen (Matt) Duncan of Butler; a great grandson, Cooper Loughman; a sister, Mildred (William) Spellman of Lexington; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Peggy Loughman; a sister-in-law, Illene Loughman of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Loughman; and two brothers and their spouses, Ralph and Hazel Welch and Walter and Helen Welch.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Main Street United Methodist Church, 230 S. Main Street, Mansfield, OH 44902 conducted by Rev. Allen Rose. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date. Family will greet friends following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church.
