MANSFIELD: Carolyn R. Brigandi, age 77, of Mansfield passed away Thursday, October 5, 2012 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 19, 1934 in Mansfield and remained a lifelong area resident.
Highly driven and motivated, Carolyn attained her high school diploma in her early 40's and completed her higher education in Accounting from North Central State College. She worked for over 15 years in the offices at Mike Volk Co. in Mansfield retiring in 1996.
A dedicated wife and mother, Carolyn enjoyed keeping the house and caring for her family. She dearly loved being outside, usually consumed with her flower or vegetable garden. Carolyn also liked getting out of the house and socializing at weekly bingo.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 35 years, Onofrio "John" Brigandi of Mansfield, a loyal son and his wife Stephen and Marcie Kodger of Lexington, six grandchildren Jennifer and Ralph Alberts, Jason and Kim Kodger, R. Alex Kodger, Randy Kodger, Brian Kodger, Jr., and Brant Kodger, five great grandchildren Sean, Jessica, Ryan, Alex and Keith, and a great great granddaughter Hikari, and a sister Darlene Kodger of Lexington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Larry Arthur Kodger and a son Brian Keith Kodger.
Friends may call Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 3-6 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Monday at 10 am. Deacon Terry Philpott will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
