LOUDONVILLE: Courtney A. Giesy, 32, of rural Loudonville, died Monday morning, January 7, 2013 at her home. Courtney was born July 11, 1980 in Columbus and was a Delaware resident most of her life, living in Loudonville the past 10 months. She was a 1998 graduate of Delaware Hayes High School and a graduate of Virginia Tech University. From a very early age Courtney loved singing and music and had studied voice and opera. She had also attended Capital Law School and served in AmeriCorps. Courtney had worked at Pearls of Wisdom bookstore in Clintonville. She had attended Loudonville Baptist Temple with her family while living in Loudonville.
Courtney is survived by her mother: Diana F. Hock of Delaware; her father and step-mother: John and Bonnie Giesy of Loudonville; her maternal grandmother: Wilma Hock of Delaware; her brother: Christopher Joseph Giesy of Columbus; a nephew: Samson J. Heine; 4 aunts, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: James R. Hock; and her paternal grandparents: Edward "Ned" and Dolores Giesy.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 at 11:00 am in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, 123 North Market Street, Loudonville with Rev. David Koehler officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Courtney always believed in helping those less fortunate, and her family requests donations be made to the local food bank in your community.
