Gerald Lee Randolph

GALION: Gerald Lee Randolph, 77, of 1450 McClure St., Galion, went to be with the lord on Friday, September 6, 2013.

Gerald was born May 4, 1936 in Ripley, West Virginia, the son of the late Willard Sr. and Nellie (Shields) Randolph. He attended Ripley schools and served in the Navy at Norfolk, Virginia on the Aircraft Carrier USS Randolph. He retired April 1, 2003 from Crane Plumbing, Mansfield after 31 years of dedicated service. Gerald also coached little league baseball at South Park when his boys were young. A dedicated family man, Gerald enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and quiet evenings at home with his wife. Gerald was also an occasional fisherman and hunter. He loved his dog, Toby and cat, Misty.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Hazel (Rhodes) Randolph; two sons, Timothy and Trisha Randolph, Brian and Jennifer Randolph, all of Galion; two daughters, Vicki and Kurt Harper, of Harpster, and Tammy and Joe Wright of Galion. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Sierra Harper, Shara Skaggs, Brett Vanderkooi, Holly Wright, Brittany and Justin Brown, Elizabeth and Ryan Shelkey, Jessie, Andrew, Madison, and Colton Randolph, Casie and Andy Rarick, Kyndle and Kyler Randolph. Nine great grandchildren; Gage Vanderkooi, Serenity Skaggs, Felicity Skaggs, Darion Sailsbury, Dexter Shelkey, Kadance and Holden Ernest, Conrad and McKinley Rarick; one step grandchild; Christian Skaggs. His special children; MacKenzie Neuman, Molly Sardina, Brandon Hunt, John Vanderkooi, Kimberly Boyd, Amy Hollsinger, Jenny Vanacheck, Bobbie Peters, Marie Chairter, Paulette Hickman, Bill Soloman, Lee Skaggs; good friends, Richard Mackey, Calvin Williams. He leaves behind one brother, Everett and Lola Belle Randolph, Ravenswood, West Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Martha and Laura Randolph and all his loving nieces and nephews.

Gerald was preceded in death by his brothers, Cleophus, Leopha, and Willard Junior Randolph; and his sisters Viola Sayre and Betty King.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 11 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Chaplain Jed Brake officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia. Full military Honors will be given at the graveside by the U.S. Navy and the Galion/Crestline Veteran's organizations.
