Herman Lee Stillwell

MANSFIELD: Herman "Lee" Stillwell, 61, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Mansfield MedCentral, following a courageous battle.

Lee was born on October 7, 1952, in Mansfield, to Herman A. and Betty J. Young Stillwell. Lee was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict, earning National Defense and Expedition Medals. Lee had a great love for fishing and being outdoors. He loved all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Lee was always up for an adventure and would offer to help anyone in time of need or just in the course of his day. A bigger heart or more generous spirit would be hard to find.

He is survived by the love of his life, Gail Gose; step-mother, Annetta Stillwell; four children, Dericole Daniel of Decatur, GA, Shondrea Page of Mansfield, Keara Stillwell of Ashland, and Lindsey Cheers of Lorain; three step-children, Kim Williams of Lucas, Kristin Fausnaugh of Hilliard, and Kathy Taylor of Mansfield; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Gregory W. Stillwell and Rodney Avery both of Mansfield, Gerry L. Stillwell of Jonesboro, GA, Joe Avery of Louisville, KY, and Kevin Stillwell of Canton; numerous aunts including Geraldine Young and Renatha Gilmore both of Mansfield; and a host of other friends and relatives.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and special aunt, Nona Burke.

Calling hours will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Thomas Hunt officiating. Full Military Honors will be performed by the R.C. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
