MANSFIELD: Harold Lee WILSON, 87, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in Kindred Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Wilson was born on Wednesday, May 13, 1925 to the late Willie and Ida Nighten Wilson in Birmingham, Alabama and had lived in Mansfield the past 57 years.
Harold was a Navy veteran of World War II, after his discharge he attended and graduated from mortuary school and worked with the A.G. Gaston Funeral Home in Birmingham. He was a former employee of Gorman-Rupp retiring in 1986 after 23 years of service and a member of the Oasis Of Love Chrurch. Harold was a member of the American Legion Post 676, an avid bowler he was a member of Gorman-Rupp's and American Legion's Teams.
Harold is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters: Taryn (Tim) Nall, Mansfield, and Gloria Wilson, Birmingham; 4 sons: Randall (Victoria) Frye, Jonathan "Jody" (Debra) Frye, Columbus, Adam (Karen) Frye, Lexington, and Quinn Frye, Mansfield; 16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents his brother also preceded Harold in death.
Friends may call Monday, at the Oasis Of Love Church one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service. His pastor, Dr. Walter E. Jordan, II will officiate. The Veteran's Burial Detail will conduct services at the church following the funeral services. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Harold's daughter, Taryn, 225 Westgate Dr. from 4-8 daily till the day of service.
