APPLE VALLEY: Jack R. Snowbarger, 86, of Apple Valley died Sunday afternoon, April 14, 2013 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center after a short illness. Jack was born Sept. 17, 1926 in Hattiesburg, MS, the son of the late Roy and Alice (Curry) Snowbarger. He was a Wellington High School graduate and had lived in the Loudonville area for the past 30 years. Early in his career, Jack worked at the former Apple Creek Developmental Center. While living in the Wooster area, he was a 20-year Million Dollar Producer for The Prudential Insurance Company prior to his 1982 retirement. He was the co-owner of Jac-Lin Manor of Loudonville and was the President and Building Supervisor of Colonial Manor Health Care Center of Loudonville for the past 20 years. Jack's love of traveling has taken him all over the world.

He was a former member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Loudonville, a past director and Exalted Ruler of the Wooster Elks Club, a past director of the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame, and a past president of the Wooster Optimist Club and the Wooster JayCees. Jack had also been actively involved with the Soap Box Derby of Wooster.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Erskine Snowbarger, whom he married Feb. 1, 1981; 2 sons: Mark and Jack Snowbarger, both of Wooster; a step-son: Bert (Kerry) MacQueen of Loudonville; his daughter: Kathy (Elpidio Abundo) of Wooster; and his former daughter-in-law: Jayne Holland of Wooster; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 nieces: Connie Wolfe and Karen Mosser, both of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister: Evelyn Bryte; and 1 brother: Robert Snowbarger.

There will be a Celebration of Jack's Life on Friday, April 19 from 6 - 8 PM in the Christian Community Center, Valley View Drive off of South Mt. Vernon Avenue, Loudonville. The LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE is honored to assist the Snowbarger family. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's choice.
