Jimmie A. Garverick

GALION: Jimmie A. Garverick, 65, of 309 S. Union Street, Galion, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University, Columbus after a hard fight with cancer.

Mr. Garverick was born in Galion on March 16, 1947 to the late Alfred W. and Louise (Wolfe) Garverick. He married Loretta E. Causey on January 19, 1973 and she survives him.

He was retired from Morrow County Jobs & Family Services as an Employment Counselor. He had previously been employed for many years at the former Perfection-Cobey. He was a graduate of Northmor High School Class of 1965. He was a member of Galion Masonic Lodge #414 F. & A.M., Galion Shrine Club and the Galion Moose Family Center #303. He served in the United States Air Force. He liked to golf, play cards and go out for dinner. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Christopher A. Garverick of Shelby; his daughter, Amanda and Wayne Edens of Blacklick; his two grandsons: Weston Edens and Ethan Edens; his sisters: Linda Baker, Delphos and Diana Neff, Galion and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in care of the funeral home.
