FREDERICKTOWN: John Robert Robinson, age 99, of Fredericktown died on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.

He was born on June 9, 1914 in Mansfield, to the late John C. and Jessie I. (Teeter) Robinson.

John was farmer in Fredericktown many years and was employed at Westinghouse in Mansfield. He was a member of the Richland County Steam Threshers and the Knox County Historical Society. John enjoyed collecting antique John Deere tractors.

John is survived by his wife, Lillian (Moury) Robinson; children, Bruce (Vonda) Robinson of Fredericktown, Robert (Debbie) Robinson of Bellville, Thomas (Linda) Robinson of Heath, David (Patricia) Robinson of Fredericktown, Jane E. Cox of Bellville, Margaret (Mickey) Cochran of Columbus, and Gloria Henry of Cardington; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister, Lois McCullough of Mansfield; sisters-in-law, Naomi Weiss of Bellville and Roberta Smith of Orlando, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Leiter.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College St., Fredericktown, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014. Burial will follow in the Quaker Cemetery near Fredericktown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fredericktown Fire Department, Hospice of Knox County, or Knox County Agricultural Society.
