MANSFIELD: Margaret Sabo Aungst, 88, of Mansfield passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born May 11, 1924, in Lexington, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Theresia (Dapper) Sabo and was a lifelong Mansfield resident. She had attended the Apostolic Christian Church in her younger years. Margaret enjoyed baking, gardening, bird feeding, and fruit trees. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed caring for them. Margaret was very kind to others and enjoyed sending birthday greetings to family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, John M. Aungst of Dayton and William "Bill" H. Aungst of Mansfield; two daughters, Martha Jane (Eugene) Haliburton of Mansfield and Margaret (Steve) McKown of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Kristy L. McKown and Tina Aungst; a nephew, John (Aleta) Aungst of California; a niece, Janet Aungst of California; a niece-in-law, Wendy Aungst; and two great-nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Aungst on April 30, 2009 and a grandson, Bill Haliburton on June 17, 2008.
Friends and family may visit from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. David Root officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to any Alzheimer's Support Group.
