LOUDONVILLE: Martha B. Kiefer, 96, of Loudonville, died Friday evening, Nov. 9, 2012 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center after an extended illness. Martha was born Feb. 22, 1916 in Ashland and was the daughter of the late William D. and Mary Jane (Kinsey) Snyder. She had been a Loudonville resident since 1946 where she and her late husband owned and operated Kiefer Florist and Greenhouse until their retirement in 1968. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Loudonville Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. On February 26, 1938 she married Raymond M. Kiefer in St. Peter Rectory in Loudonville and he died Oct. 9, 1991.
She is survived by 3 sons; Larry (Carol) Kiefer of Mansfield, William (Norma Mote) Kiefer and Ron (Elaine) Kiefer all of Loudonville; 1 daughter, Helen Ankney of Loudonville; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a great-grandson, Corey Krichbaum in 2006; 3 brothers, William, Debs, and Henry Snyder; 1 sister, Mary Snyder; 1 half-brother, George Franklin; and 2 half-sisters; Bertha Kunkle and Maye McKee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church, Loudonville with Father Rod Kreidler officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Loudonville. Friends may call Monday, Nov. 12 from 6-8PM in Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville.
