GALION: Marvel E. Braden, 75, of Galion, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a short illness.

Born March 26, 1937 in Bucyrus, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Marvel B. (Korner) Rein. She was preceded in death on September 4, 2006 by her husband, Donald G. Braden whom she married on July 29, 1961.

Marvel was a graduate of Bucyrus High School where she was the class treasurer. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. One of her passions was her flower garden and she also enjoyed reading.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Tina Braden of Galloway and Keith Braden of Delaware; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Drew Karnes of Galion; nine grandchildren, Celeste (Matt) Wonderly, Amber (D.J.) Cosgrove, Holly, Alesha and Adam Braden and Kyle, Chad, Clay and Caitlyn Karnes; two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Emerson Wonderly; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and James Fritz of Marion; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Don Morris of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Ankney and Mary Lou Rohrbaugh.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, with Pastor Don Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
