Mary M. Mollett

SHELBY: Mary M. Mollett, age 81, of Shelby, died late Thursday evening, October 3, 2013 at her home.

Mary was born January 28, 1932 in Van Lear, KY, the daughter of the late George and Murtie (Pugh) Varner. She had retired from MTD in Willard in 1990 after 23 years of service and then went on to work at Meijer's in Ontario for nine years. When Mary was still working at MTD, she liked to bowl and was on a bowling league. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and used to enjoy crocheting and quilting. She also loved tending to her outside flowers and landscaping. Mary found joy going out to eat with any of her kids which was often followed by a shopping trip, as she was an avid shopper.

Mary is survived by: 2 sons: Gary Mollett of Shelby, Jason Mollett of Mansfield; 6 daughters: Debra Henderson of Shelby, Evelyn Kubitz (Mike Stockmaster, Sr.) of Mansfield, Pamela (Jeff) Steele of Shelby, Devone (Richard) Gable of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Tamara (Anthony) Smith of Shelby, Michelle Evans (Trevor Leemaster) of Marysville; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law: Mary Varner of CA, Anna Ward of Shelby, Gladys Mollette of KY; and her special four-legged friend Little Bit. She was preceded in death by: her husband: Frank D. Mollett in 1990; a son: James Howard Varner; a daughter: Carol Wertz; infant daughter: Nicole Mollett; 3 brothers: Joseph Varner, George Varner, William Varner; a sister: Rosybell Tallon.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Reverend Gary Adkins will officiate and burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to Richland County Humane Society
