Ralph D. Johnson

MANSFIELD: Ralph D. Johnson, 63, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly April 18, 2013 at home.

He was born March 1, 1950, son of the late Jack D. Johnson and Amanda Childs. He had lived in Mansfield his entire life. He was a graduate of Malabar High School. Ralph had been a substitute teacher for Richland New Hope School. In his earlier life he was a member of the Maddox Memorial C.O.G.I.C. where he had sang in the church choir.

He is survived by his aunt, Mary Minor; close relatives, Joe Smith, Shane Smith, Leon Mack, David King, Dianna (James) King, Ruthie Howell, Ulysses Simms; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sank and Adell Childs, uncle Elijah Childs and his cousin, Joseph Simms.

Family will be receiving friends this week at 237 E. Second St., Mansfield, Ohio and at 2462 Haviland Court prior to the visitation and services at the church on Friday. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Noon on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Maddox Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1148 Walker Lake Rd., Mansfield with Elder Thomas McClain officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
