JEROMESVILLE: Regg Shaw Rader age 57 of Jeromesville, passed away Saturday August 4, 2012. Born in Ashland on December 11, 1954 the son of David C. and Katherine Jean (Harpster) Rader, he had been an Ashland County resident all of his life.

On March 15, 1980 Regg married Billie Roberts who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife Billie, Regg is survived by two sons, Shaw Rader and girlfriend, Sarah Sturm and Brock Rader both of Ashland. He is also survived by his parents, David C. Rader of Ashland and K. Jean Endsley of Ashland; one brother, Charles Eric Rader of Ashland; and sister and brother in law, Jennifer (Tyler) Heyl of Ashland; also surviving are his mother and father in law, Rosemary and Bill Roberts of Ashland; sisters and brothers in law, Regina (Mike) Welch of Ashland, Joy and (Mike) Bachman of Cincinnati and one brother in law, Mike (Tall) Roberts and his girlfriend, Susan Buffenmyer. Mr. Rader is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, niece and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Helen Harpster and Charles and Alice Rader.

Regg had been employed as an Operator and eventually a Supervisor for Shelly and Sands Inc. since 1978 and was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18. He is a graduate of Ashland High School class of 1973. He had formerly served on the Ashland County Fair Sheep and Swine Committee and was a member of the Perry Township Zoning Committee. Other memberships include the Penton Motorcycle Owners Group, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, Perry-Mont Big Buck Club and the American Motorcycle Association. In Regg's younger years he helped operate his family's motocross track Rader's Spoke Easy, this allowed him to participate in motocross races all over the state of Ohio winning multiple racing championships on Penton and Husqvarna dirt bikes.

When his two sons were born Regg started raising show lambs and put together one of the best flocks in the country. He, his sons and father went on to win multiple Grand Champions at the local, State and National level.

One of his greatest passions was being in the Outdoors, he loved hunting and fishing with family and friends, always making it enjoyable no matter what the weather was like.

Most recently he acquired a skill of grilling and smoking meats for all of his family and friends. People in the neighborhood were always stopping over to see what flavor he was cooking that day.

His biggest passion of all was being an amazing and devoted husband, father and friend. He had a nack for making everyone feel welcome and if someone needed help he was the first one there. Regg always had advice and gave it freely whether you wanted it or not.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday August 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Messner officiating at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday August 8, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. in Jack's Place also located at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be given to the Regg Shaw Rader Memorial Fund through the Ashland County Community Foundation, 300 College Avenue, Ashland Ohio 44805.
