Richard L. Cicolani

MANSFIELD: Richard L. Cicolani, 85, of Mansfield, Ohio, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at his residence. Born August 5, 1927 in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the son of Sam and Lena (Scolavolpi) Cicolani. He attended Mansfield City Schools and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from White Westinghouse where he held many positions during his long employment, ending his career as a boiler maker. "Chick" was extremely proud to have been a member of a family that sent seven sons to the Navy, Army Air Force or the Marines in defense of their country on either the European or Pacific front during World War II. In addition to his time as a Seabee in the Phillippines during the war, he also served on Adak Island in the Aleutian chain during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed NASCAR and traveling.

He is survived by his son, Rick (Sharon) Cicolani; step-children, Sharon Harwell, Debbie Ferger and Rodney Imhoff; grandchildren, Eric (Kelly) and Brad (Sheree) Cicolani, Lisa Reip and David (Katie) Kissel, Jr.; nine great grandchildren; special friend, Donna Berger; loving niece, Kelly Jessop; and several additional nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Cicolani Kissel; seven brothers, Reno, Henry, Malio, Milo, James, George and John Cicolani; and four sisters, Ida Favetta, Lillian White, Lena Kunz Madsen and Hazel Esposito.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Chaplain Jedidiah Brake. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Military services will be conducted by the United States Navy following the service at the funeral home.
