Robert L. "Bob" Brown

MANSFIELD: Robert L. "Bob" Brown passed away January 23, in the early morning in the arms of his loving wife as she sang him into heaven. He spent his last days surrounded by his family.

He was born December 3, 1921 in Johnson City, TN.

A U.S. Army veteran, Robert served his country three years during World War II with the 82nd Airborne Division.

For 30 years Robert worked as a pipe fitter for Capital Fire Systems, retiring in 1985. He was also a 60 year member of the Sprinkler Fitters Local 669.

A member of Mansfield First Assembly of God, he served in whatever capacity he was needed. Robert was a former member of the church board, and served as a bus driver, usher and greeter, however, he found much joy in serving on various mission trips.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and boating, woodworking and rabbit hunting. He will be missed and remembered by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Doris A. (Cutlip) of Mansfield whom he married April 20, 1946, sons Donald (Mary Ann) Brown of Taylor, MI, Steven Brown of Mansfield; a daughter Rebecca Peters of Mansfield, eleven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by two sons Michael and Richard Brown, and a great grandchild.

Friends may call Friday, January 25, 2013 from 4-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 am. Pastor Thomas Blair will officiate and burial with military honors conducted by Irvin Hiskey Post #535 American Legion will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions to Hospice of North Central Ohio may be made at the funeral home.
