Scott Entsminger Obituary

Scott E. Entsminger

MANSFIELD: Scott E. Entsminger, 55, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his residence. Born January 8, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of William and Martha (Kirkendall) Entsminger. He retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. He was an accomplished musician, loved playing the guitar and was a member of the Old Fogies Band. A lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and season ticket holder, he also wrote a song each year and sent it to the Cleveland Browns as well as offering other advice on how to run the team. He respectfully requests six Cleveland Browns pall bearers so the Browns can let him down one last time. Scott was a fun loving, kind and caring man who enjoyed gardening and fishing but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Pat Entsminger; a son, Aaron Entsminger of Columbus; a brother, Bill (Kathy) Entsminger of Grove City, Ohio; a sister, Lois Courtright of Galloway, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Carol Ferrall of Georgia; four nieces, Kristi Nunamaker, Allison Courtright, Emily Ferrall and Ashley Ferrall; a nephew, Benny Entsminger; his three dogs, Blackey, Shadow and Jezebel; his step mother, Lil Entsminger; a special aunt, Ginny Entsminger; and several cousins and other dear relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harry Courtright.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 South Main Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday. The family also encourages everyone to wear their Cleveland Browns clothing to the service in honor of Scott. The family suggests that something be planted in his memory.

I forgot to give my name last night. Again, to Pat, Aaron, Bill, Lois and the rest of this spirited family. Please accept my condolences in the loss of your husband, father, and brother. To the Entsminger Family,
I live on the east coast and read about your loved one, I recently lost my twin brother whom lived in Bedford,Ohio and was also a "Die Hard" Browns Fan !!!
Every Sunday we would watch the Browns and try and figure out how they were going to lose the game despite leading going into the 4th quarter.
His request to have several Browns be his pallbearers was priceless "to be let down one last time by the Browns " was/is a quote for the ages !! I've sent the article to several Browns' fans.
May you find peace with your loss and I bet he and my twin brother are in heaven looking forward to upcoming season.
God-Bless :)

RIP Scott. A lifelong Browns fan (and a season ticket holder at one time too) originally from upstate NY, now living in Boston. I never miss a Browns game, and I take a lot of mocking here in Boston from other teams fans. It was nice to read your story and bring back some good memories and humor and that goes with the territory of being a Browns fan. I hope you are never let down again, and that you enjoy watching the Browns from the best seats in the house!

Go Browns! Brendan

July 10, 2013

I am 61 and now live in New Jersey. Born in Cleveland and raised a Browns fan I still follow them today. I know how you felt being let down time and again, but we must always think positive knowing some day there will be a championship in Cleveland. Rest in peace.

A Raven fan, proud of the Cleveland rivalry.

The Dog Pound in Heaven has opened up its' kennel for its' newest member. Scott you will be long remembered, and DEFINITELY not forgotten. Rest In Peace.

July 10, 2013

I couldn't believe my dream had come true on the day I came to my first Cleveland Browns game! A young girl growing up in Detroit watching the greats like Jim Brown. I was finally standing in this great legacy of Football - I was overwhelmed! It was an honor and so much fun to be apart of the Cleveland Browns Fans! It's fans like SCOTT who made my journey across the states last year worth every SWA miles to be at the Browns games. I was a new Browns family member last year in those stands, and you made me proud to be a Browns Fan. I relinquished my heart for the LIONS, PITTSBURG, and Peyton to wear my BROWNS jersey like all true Browns fans! Thanks SCOTT and all the BROWNIES across America because in life or death, you are BROWNS FANS!

July 10, 2013

Loyalty to the end! To death do us part.... Touching! Most people don't even commit to their wedding vows... You are a true fan so my prayers and comfort to your wife, son, and family. Thanks for keeping it real. I know you will be missed by all the Browns. I enjoyed the games because of fans like you who support the Browns no matter what... RIP. " Browns" Family
