Scottie Inman

MANSFIELD: Scottie Inman, 82, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at his home. Born September 10, 1928, in Pineville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Andy and Mae (Cook) Inman. Scottie retired from Empire-Detroit Steel after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marines, serving during the Korean War. Scottie was a member of Apostolic Faith Assembly where he thoroughly enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. His family was most important in his life, especially the love of his life, wife Mayme. Scottie was devoted to keeping in touch with friends and family and was a great storyteller. A very proud man with a strong work ethic, he enjoyed traveling in his spare time.

Scottie is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mayme; children, Karon Inman of Logan, OH, Michael (Mary) Inman of Winter Haven, FL, Tamberlee Tripp of Chillicothe, OH and William (Sandra) Inman of Nelsonville, OH; stepchildren, Latonia (Peter) Moore of Bellville, OH, Timothy (Shirley) Back of Mansfield and Kimberly (Stephen) Bray of Highland, IL; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; five sisters, Evelyn (Eugene) Tolley of FL, Kathern Williams, Norma Todd, both of KY, Emma (Bob) Humrichouser and Treasa Wilson, both of OH; four brothers, Charles (Joyce) Inman of OH, Tip (Lee) Inman of KY, John Wilson of OH and Allen Wilson; a stepbrother, Harry (Cordie) Dowell of OH; aunt, Norma Hall of OK; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Wilson.

Friends may visit from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A funeral service conducted by Pastor Robert O'Brian will be held in the funeral home Monday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park with military honors by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Faith Assembly Church. Online guest registry at www.wappner.com

You probably don't remember me but my husband and I were at Ft. Mclellan, Ala the same time as you and your wife. (Lady) I live here in Mansfield and saw that you had lost your father and I just wanted to say how very sorry I am. God be with you. Priscilla Gaskins (Larry passed away 2 yrs. ago)
