Thomas J. Milliren

MANSFIELD: Thomas J. Milliren, age 89, formerly of Harborcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Sterling House in Mansfield, OH. He was born in Erie December 1, 1924, son of the late Walter and Sarah Gray Milliren.

Tom was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was a graduate of Academy High School, class of 1943. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. Tom was a retired electrical engineer from General Electric Co. He was a life member of the American Society of Dowsers and a charter member of the Ozark Research Institute. He was active in various aspects of dowsing research over the past 50 plus years. He began dowsing in 1955 and began healing research in 1968. Tom was the author of several books on dowsing. They were "Ancient Mysteries of Healing Discovered", "Learning the Art of Dowsing-Divining", and "Noxious-Geopathic Fields are damaging to your health". He traveled the United States teaching and healing.

Tom was a former member of the Wesleyville Rotary Club where he had served as President for a one year term, and as Secretary of the Club for several years. He is a member of Perry-Keystone Lodge # 392 F & AM.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Tillich Milliren.

Tom is survived by one daughter, Diane Hammett (Jeff) of Mansfield, OH; three sons, Bryan Milliren of Newbury, MA, Eric Milliren of San Francisco, CA, Kirk Milliren of Plant City, FL; three grandchildren, Nick (Sara) Hammett and Troy Hammett, all of Mansfield, OH, and Carly Milliren of Newbury, MA.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Service there at 1:00 pm with the Rev. David Laakso of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Interment in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Carl Neff Post # 571 at the cemetery.
