Wilma Ruth Erick

GALION: While in the touch of her loving husband, Wilma Ruth Erick of Galion passed peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, February 18, 2013 in the Galion Community Hospital.

"Tillie", as she was known by everyone was born November 16, 1926. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Stella (Gay) Lee. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James R. Erick. They were married September 9, 1945.

Wilma graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1944. After graduating she worked at the Marion Star in the advertising department before moving to Galion where she then perused a 42 year career in retail while working at the Merit Shoe Company, Klopps Department Store, the Globe Clothing Store and finally retiring while working as a sales associate at the Clothes Horse. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed her many crafts. Her biggest joy in life was family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband Jim; she is survived by son, Richard L. Erick of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Andrea Lynne Erick of Tampa, Fla. and Christopher James Erick and wife, Kerry of Hingham, Mass.; parents of Tillie's three great-grandchildren, Carson James Erick, Finley Kate Erick and Avery Campbell Erick; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Jean) Lee of Marion, Robert (Dorothy) Lee of Mt. Gilead and Jerry (Micki) Lee of Greenwich, Conn.

She was preceded in death by one brother, John Lee; and three sisters, Martha Bosse and twin sisters, Margaret Lee and Marjorie Barnhart.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Febraury 23 with Pastor Jerry Penrod presiding. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
