ONTARIO: Betty Ann Ward, 80, of Ontario, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Liberty Nursing Center. She was born February 20, 1934 in Dehue, West Virginia to the late Ernest and Norma (Miller) McNeely.
Betty was dedicated to her job at Sprint where she worked for 36 years. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, loved ceramics, shopping and traveling all over. She was a gracious and kind woman who loved her family, especially her grandsons. Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She met the love of her life, Samuel Ward, at the Dime Store in Logan, West Virginia and they shared 63 wonderful years together.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two grandsons, David Ward of Marion and Jeremy Ward of Mansfield; a granddaughter, Brittany Ward of Dayton; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Makayla and Skylar Ward; one sister, Corbia McNeely of Mentor; a brother-in-law, Paul (Shirley) Ward of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Sharon (Kenny) McDonald of FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ernest H. Ward; and sister, Sue Browning.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the
