Mark W. Mosier

MANSFIELD: Mark W. Mosier, age 64, of Mansfield went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, February 22, 2014 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a short illness.

He was born May 9, 1949 to Kenneth and Ruth (Shade) Mosier and was graduated from Malabar High School in 1968.

A lifelong Mansfield resident, Mark worked for over 17 years for Richland County in the maintenance department at the Richland County Courthouse. Mark also worked at Meijer and at Therm-O-Disc before leaving the work force in 2003.

On July 7, 1984 he married Margie Gaspard with whom he celebrated nearly 30 years of marriage.

Mark was a member at First Church of the Open Bible in Mansfield, and had formerly attended Foursquare Gospel Church and Mansfield First Assembly of God. Active in the church, Mark was a commander for the Royal Rangers for many years.

He was a member of the Johnny Appleseed Woodcarvers Club where he participated in many shows and events. Among his creations were his ironic "thumb tacs" in the shape of a thumb, and cowboy boots. He was also a member of the SASS (Single Action Shooting Society), which promotes the sport of cowboy action shooting, his alias was "Old Joe Crow." He also enjoyed hunting and loved to fish.

Most of all, Mark will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and his love of his family.
