Wayne "Pinky" O. Smith

PERRYSVILLE: Wayne "Pinky" O. Smith, 79, of Perrysville, died at his home Tuesday, March 4, 2014 following a year long illness surrounded by his loving family and special granddaughters and caregivers, Regina and Trina. Mr. Smith was born April 11, 1934 in Ashland County and was the son of the late Lawrence Conrad and Iva Marie (Emery) Smith. He was a Perrysville-Loudonville resident for all of his life and was employed with Mansfield Plumbing Products for 42 years. Following his retirement, he delivered the Times Gazette and Loudonville Shopper for more than ten years. Pinky enjoyed boats, traveling, working with machinery, tinkering with engines, and attending steam engine shows. He was especially proud of his restoration of a scale model bus of a Flxible Clipper which is now on display with the Cleo Redd Fisher Museum.

He is survived by three sons: Michael W. (Karen) Smith of Loudonville, Russell Smith and Larry Smith both of Perrysville; two daughters: Bonnie L. Smith and Janet (Danny) Dumas, both of Mansfield; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Joyce Young and Sharie Shilling, both of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter: Evelyn Diane Harvey; one daughter-in-law: Shelvy Boutwell Smith; one granddaughter: Katherine Fix; two sisters: Sue Burton and Bonda Leaman; and one brother: Curt Smith.
