Margaret "Marge" E. Golden

MANSFIELD: Margaret "Marge" E. Golden, 89, of Mansfield, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Liberty Nursing Center of Mansfield. Born August 24, 1924 in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of John and Ann (Remar) O'Grady.

A veteran of the United States Army, she was an Army Clerk during World War II and retired from Martin Hardware. Marge was a member of the Amvets and VFW and enjoyed crocheting and working on word finds. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. A kind and caring mother, Marge loved being with her family and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by a daughter, Alice (Joe) Gilliam of Mansfield; a son, Donald Golden of Mansfield; a step daughter, Sara Ickert of Shelby; three grandchildren, Laurie (Rick) Obenour of Marion, Mike (Dani) Gilliam of Dublin and Tara Gilliam of Mansfield; three great grandchildren, Samuel and Joshua Gilliam and Garrett Obenour; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Eberle of New Berlin, WI; a niece, Susan; and a nephew, Jim.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eldred S. "Bud" Golden on July 11, 2004; two infant sons; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Eberle.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario conducted by Rev. Christopher R. Thomas. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park where full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9-10 a.m., at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the .
