Patricia A. Swank

MANSFIELD: Patricia A. Swank, 88, of Mansfield, died Tuesday afternoon, March 25, 2014 in Lexington Court Care Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Swank was born April 9, 1925 in Mansfield and was the daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Derrenberger) Wilcox. She grew up in Loudonville and was a 1943 graduate of Loudonville High School and a 1946 graduate of Mt. Carmel Hospital School of Nursing, Columbus. She was a registered nurse working at Samaritan Hospital and for many years at Akron City Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital of Akron. On Dec. 28, 1946 she married Harry Roscoe Swank and they lived in Cuyahoga Falls from 1952 to 2003 when they moved to Mansfield. Mr. Swank preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2004. Mrs. Swank enjoyed knitting, sewing, needlework and reading. Her family and grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She is survived by her son, Gary Swank of Columbus; two daughters: Mary A. (Jack) Johnson of Mansfield and Barbara (Frank) Murawski of Alpharetta, GA; eight grandchildren: Brian (Carrie) Johnson, Douglas (Jennifer) Johnson, Karl (Malini) Swank, Daniel (Mackenzie) Swank, Gregory Swank, Stephen Murawski, Chris Murawski, and William (Allison) Murawski; five great-grandchildren: Ryan Koerper, Raegan Johnson, Karina Swank, Michael Swank, and Landon Murawski; and one nephew: Dana Wilcox. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, an infant son, and one brother: Robert Wilcox.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM in Loudonville Cemetery with Rev. Bob Mitchell officiating. There will be no visitation.
